Cultivating a full life with heart, hands, and humble spaces.
Welcome to Savor And Grow, a place created with a passion for cultivating realistic homestead living within the confines of city dwellings and even townhome limits. In a world inundated with perfectly curated homesteads boasting beautiful farmhouses and vast acres of land, Savor and Grow is your guide to embracing a homestead lifestyle wherever you are.
My mission goes beyond just tangible tips and how-tos; it’s about creating a vision, having a heart to do the work and having willing hands to make it happen. We are called to manage our households well (1 Timothy 3:4-5) and it is my goal to encourage and embody a spirit of finding fulfillment in the rhythm of daily tasks and the beauty of God’s creation.
At Savor and Grow, you’ll find the encouragement and inspiration you need to embark on your journey of creating a home rooted in traditional values. Whether you’re growing a vertical garden in limited space, learning to preserve seasonal produce from the farmer’s market, or creating homemade goods for your family, I want to empower mamas (and everyone else!) to find joy in the simple, time-honored practices that connect us to our roots.

About Lisa
My husband, Kyle, and I are raising our two sweet boys in a suburb about one hour west of Chicago. Amidst a booming seller’s market and while five months pregnant with our second son, we found ourselves abruptly leaving our rental and diving headfirst into homeownership. And while we hadn’t envisioned a townhome as our idyllic property, God planted us in the perfect place for us to learn and grow together during this season of life.
I’m a small town Wisconsin-girl at heart, and as each year passes by, I feel my rural roots tugging at my heartstrings more and more. Health and fitness have been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember but my dedication to real–food nutrition and desire for low-toxic living soared following the birth of our first son. When our second son was born and we learned that he had food allergies, the imperative to craft whole-food dishes became a top priority. This journey sparked a deep interest in sourdough, exploring additional ways to support our family’s health through natural means and truly became the catalyst that pointed me right back to my rural roots and the aspiration to live differently.
My husband and I are both lovers of fitness. While you can find me breaking a sweat in our basement over nap time it wouldn’t be uncommon to find my husband running an obstacle race in the middle of January in the snow. As a family we focus on spending numerous hours outdoors, ensuring our boys delight and look forward to staying active in the fresh air. To help instill in them the importance of staying active while making it fun, we started the tradition of an early morning turkey trot every Thanksgiving, pushing them in the stroller as we run.

Following the arrival of our second son, I made the decision to leave my career in healthcare, grateful for the opportunity to be a stay-at-home mama and nurture our boys. There’s no place I’d rather be than savoring the simple joys of baking muffins together for breakfast, exploring new hiking trails, or reading aloud from library books as they enjoy their lunch at the table.
Come alongside me as I embrace, re-define, and navigate the homestead lifestyle, cherishing the little pleasures and growing together in faith, community, and friendship.
Welcome to Savor And Grow – where homestead living meets our suburban reality, and every day is an opportunity to glorify God in all we do.
